Constant Contact

He wakens me morning by morning,
wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.
                                   —Isaiah 50:4

“Call me anytime,” he said, “I have my cell phone on 24/7/365.” Twenty-four hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year seems a bit excessive for human availability. But not for divine connection; constant contact is needed and available.

Polished pianist Ignacy Paderewski said, “If I miss one day of practice, I notice it. If I miss two days, the critics notice it. If I miss three days, the audience notices it.” And Grant Hill, professional basketball player known for his arduous off-season practice regimen said: “When I take one day off, I feel like I’m lacking a bit.”

You can’t take a day off from connection with God without losing a step.
