We Can Only Imagine

This was the appearance of the
likeness of the glory of the Lord.
                 —Ezekiel 1:28

What will it be like when we see the Lord? Bart Millard wondered about that after the death of his father, and wrote a song about it: “I can only imagine what my eyes will see when your face is before me.”

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still?
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine.

“I have seen you in the sanctuary,” wrote David. So have we. In deeply-moving moments of worship we have felt his touch and seen his glory.

But what will it be like to see him face-to-face? Glorious! For now that’s all we know. Glorious!

When you get home you will find
what you have been looking for all your life.
