He Came and Became

The Word became flesh and
made his dwelling among us.
           —John 1:14

Here are two sentences the spell out what Jesus did for you.

The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost (Lk. 19:10).
The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (Jno. 1:14).

The key word in the first sentence is “came.” The key word in the second sentence is “became.”

He came to earth and became human to show that he is not coldhearted, but compassionate.
He came to earth and became human to find you and save you.
He came to earth and became human to show that he knows what you’re going through.

We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are … (Heb. 4:15).

You will experience nothing that he doesn’t understand,
for you will go nowhere that he hasn’t been.
