Believing and Remaining

Let the peace of Christ rule
in your hearts … And be thankful.
          —Colossians 3:15

The author of Hebrews reminds us of some who missed the boat because they heard the message but didn’t believe it (Heb. 4:2).

He urges his readers to never let their faith lapse, to hold on firmly to the end (Heb. 3:12, 14).

Believing and remaining bring breathtaking blessings.

The first and last sentences of Romans 8 sum up those blessings …

The first sentence assures that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
The last sentence promises that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.

No condemnation. No separation.

Let those two sentences saturate your heart with peace and your prayers with thanksgiving.

Thankfulness and peace go hand-in-hand;
you won’t have one without the other.
