Do Good

Eager to do what is good.
          —Titus 2:14

“Good” is a big word in Titus …

The church leader is to be “one who loves what is good” (1:8).
Older women are “to teach what is good” (2:3).
Titus is to set an example “by doing what is good” (2:7).
Christ’s disciples are to be “eager to do what is good” (2:14); “to be ready to do whatever is good” (3:1); and “to devote themselves to doing what is good” (3:8, 14).

God sends us into the world with a “Do Good” toolbox. We are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works” (Eph. 2:10).

All around you are people who need the compassionate touch of concern, kindness, understanding, and love. When you give it to them, God credits it as given to him (Matt. 25:34-40).

There is no virtue in knowing
to do good; only in doing it.
