We brought nothing into the world,
and we can take nothing out of it.

Cagey advertisers have brainwashed us into believing that happiness is regulated by conditions. In other words, our happiness is determined by such things as our health, wealth, or marriage—leaving us to wonder why so many healthy, wealthy, married people are miserable.

Truth is your happiness meter doesn’t register your level of joy based on how much you make and how much you own.

All—all—earthly positions are temporary. Whether you are a dishwasher or the big cheese, it’s a temporary job. Whether you live in a shack or a mansion, it’s temporary housing.

There is no security in the temporary; only in the eternal.

Some people use up their entire life making money
to enjoy a life they have entirely used up.
