Distilled Wisdom (5)

Who is wise and understanding among you?
Let him show it by his good life.
                 —James 3:13

Lessons we have learned, are learning, or need to learn.

Part 5 …

Never too bad, never too old, never too late to change.

Our job is not to see through each other but to see each other through.

I should think all I speak, but shouldn’t speak all I think.

I don’t have to explain something I haven’t said.

Before speaking I should ask myself if it will improve on the silence.

I should never let a charitable thought end with a good intention.

The best things in life aren’t things.

If I have integrity nothing else matters—and if I don’t have integrity nothing else matters.

There is no right way to do a wrong thing.

I can never give a word of encouragement too soon, because I never know when it will be too late.

You’re not there yet, but you’re
closer than you were yesterday.
