Today Won’t Go as It Came

This is the day the Lord has made,
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
            —Psalm 118:24

The first half of today’s text belongs to God. He did the heavy lifting; birthed this brand new day, gift-wrapped it, and delivered it to your door.

The second half of the text belongs to you. From the get-go you greet the day with a smile or a smirk, with gratefulness or grouchiness; you will honor God’s handiwork and consecrate the day by being cheerful, or contaminate it by complaining.

The day won’t go as it came. It will be well-used, misused, or unused.

Today will be filled with something, and it’s up to you to decide what that something will be.

The difference between a good day
and a bad day is attitude.
