Hold Your Tongue

He who holds his tongue is wise.
                 —Proverbs 10:19

Have you been on the receiving end of cutting words?

Put it behind you.

Replaying cruel words over and over is a recipe for misery. It’s giving the culprit control of your time, your thoughts, your attitude, maybe even your health. That’s not the person you want running your life is it?

You can’t control what others say. But you can control your reaction.

And you are the only one that can control what you say. Weigh your words before you speak—it’s too late after you speak.

Be “slow to speak” (Jas. 1:19).

“I have never been hurt by anything I didn’t say,” said Calvin Coolidge.

Be disciplined enough not to speak
everything you think.
