No one comes to the Father
except through me.
—John 14:6
Some think a Christian is someone who believes certain things: inspiration of Scripture, virgin birth, resurrection.
Some think a Christian is someone who does certain things: goes to church, gets baptized, takes communion.
Some think a Christian is just a nice guy, regardless of what he believes and does—although he might have an edge if he doesn’t drink, smoke, or cuss.
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
It’s important to believe and do the right things, but it’s possible to believe and do the right things and pretty much leave Jesus—the only way to the Father—out of it.
Jesus is the way:
the one way; the only way.
