There Are No Shortcuts

I press on toward the goal.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White won the gold with world-record performances in the Winter Olympics dance competition in Sochi, Russia.

They didn’t get to the top-center of that flag-draped podium in one giant leap; they climbed there one torturous step at a time. They started practicing together when they were in elementary school, and stayed with it every day—every day—for 17 years.

A major snag in resolutions is that they are often vague and blurry.

Goals are useful; but unreachable until the destination is sharply defined.

You can’t get “there” if you don’t know where “there” is.

There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. No one will accidentally stumble into success … or into heaven.

If you aim at nothing
you’re sure to hit it.
