Give Him What You Have

How many loaves do you have?
                    —Mark 8:5

Back-to-back unachievable demands had the apostles perplexed. Jesus was telling them to do the impossible.

According to Mark 6, he told them to feed an enormous crowd.

Impossible!

“How many loaves do you have?” he asked.

“Five—and two fish.”

Okay, that will do. That little bit in his hands fed 5,000 men.

Two chapters later, he told them to feed another 4,000.

Impossible!

“How many loaves do you have?” he asked.

“Seven . . . and a few small fish.”

Okay, that will do. And with that, the multitude was fed.

Jesus starts with what you have.

Whatever you have will do. Offer him who you are and what you have. He asks for nothing more; give him nothing less.

Give God the opportunity to show
what he can do with your life.
