Texts That Changed Lives (1)

I trust in your word.
   —Psalm 119:42

In the 1920s, F.W. Boreham wrote four books about people whose lives were changed by a single text. This week let’s look at a few of them: not their stories, just the texts that changed their lives.

Martin Luther: “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17).

Hugh Latimer: “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).

John Bunyan: “Him that cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37).

John Knox: “This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3).

George Moore: “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
