Reaching for Help

Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you.
    —Psalm 55:22

Are you facing into tornadic winds of anxiety or grief? Trying to cope when there seems to be no hope?

Simplistic, epigrammatic counsel, however well-meaning, doesn’t help. H.L. Mencken wrote: “There’s always an easy solution to every human problem—neat, plausible, and wrong.” We’re individuals, not robots—no two of us process problems exactly the same way.

May I point you to someone who can help? Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).

You still have some heavy lifting, for only you can find your path to the door of that invitation and the strength to push it open. It’s a wonderful gift if you can stretch your reach to accept it.

Help is just a decision away.
