Erin

The Lord your God will
be with you wherever you go.
             —Joshua 1:9

Fourteen-year-old Erin is in a fierce fight with osteosarcoma. She’s bravely facing miles of rough road: chemo, hip replacement, rehab.

When a lovely, vibrant teenager grapples with such a life-interrupting battle, the “Why?” questions assault our sense of fairness.

Corrie ten Boom endured the ghastly atrocities of Nazi death camps. She said she would never have chosen the suffering she experienced, but that it equipped her to minister to others in later years.

“[God] gives us comfort in our trials so that we in turn may be able to give the same sort of strong sympathy to others in theirs” (2 Cor 1:4–5).

Erin will grow to be a remarkable woman, connecting with others in ways that those of us who have not faced what she’s facing never could.

Get ready, world! Here comes Erin!

Everyone has an area of ministry
that no one else can fill.
