Moving

Come, follow me.
  —Mark 10:21

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Americans move an average of twelve times in their lifetime. In 2018, 32 million citizens packed up under one roof, hit the road, and unpacked under a different one.

Jesus put a new spin on moving. He called people to make a heart-move, not a geographical one.

To Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, and Matthew, he said, “Follow me”—and they did (Mt 4:19, 22; 9:9; Jn 1:43).

To a couple of would-be followers, he said, “Follow me”—and they said they would, but not yet (Lk 9:57–60).

To a young man who wanted eternal life, he said, “Follow me”—and he said the price was too high (Mk 10:21–22).

Have you made a heart-move toward him—or are you still living in the same space you were in a year ago?

The most important decision you’ll ever make is
where you’re going to make your permanent home.
