I sought the Lord, and he answered me;

In Matthew 8, there are stories about two men who came to Jesus for help. One was a helpless leper, the other a powerful centurion. The leper wanted to be made clean. The centurion wanted his suffering servant to be made well.
In Luke 8, there are stories about two more people who came to Jesus for help. One was an influential synagogue ruler, the other an impoverished woman. The synagogue ruler wanted Jesus to heal his dying twelve-year-old daughter. The woman wanted to be healed of a twelve-year-old infirmity.
You want to make everything all right for yourself and those you love. And you can’t do it. The only thing you can do is bring it to the Lord—and know that at the end of the story, everything is going to be all right.
Only God has the power to make everything
all right. And in the end, he will.
