Cut the Complaining

Do everything without complaining.
                    —Philippians 2:14

Some people are impossible to please. A Reader’s Digest article served up this sampling of what some wealthy vacationers told their travel agents:

  • “On my holiday to India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food.”
  • A guest at a Novotel in Austria complained that his soup was too thick. He was unwittingly slurping gravy.
  • Following a trip to a national theme park, one angry woman complained that the sun was so hot it melted her ice cream.

Chronic complainers presume that they could run the world better than God. From our limited human perspective, it may seem that God is mismanaging things. But we don’t know what he knows or see what he sees.

Acknowledge God’s sovereignty
by cutting the complaining.
