Think About Big Things

God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son.
                 —John 3:16

We often meander among small things: small worries, small pleasures, small ideas, and small talk.

John Bunyan said he was puzzled “when I saw old people hunting after the things of this life, as if they should live here always.”

Turn your thoughts to these big things:

“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16). That’s a big thing!

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Cor 5:21). That’s a big thing!

“It is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment” (Heb 9:27). That’s a big thing!

Life here is short.
Life there is forever.
