I am the Alpha and the Omega.
The “I am’s” of Jesus proclaim his incomparable eminence:
“I am the bread of life.”
“I am the light of the world.”
“I am the door.”
“I am the good shepherd.”
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
“I am the resurrection and the life.”
And when we come to the closing book of the Bible, we see in both the first and last chapters that he is everything: “I am the Alpha and the Omega . . . who is, and who was, and who is to come” (1:8). “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (22:13). He is the entire alphabet from A to Z.
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come” (Rv 4:8).
He has you covered: past, present, and future.
