Four Questions; Four Answers

We are more than conquerors
through him who loved us.
        —Romans 8:37

In Romans 8, Paul asks four sobering questions and gives four encouraging answers.

Question: If God is for you, who can be against you?
Answer: No one, because God sent and sacrificed his Son for you (vv. 31, 32).

Question; Who will bring any charge against you whom God has chosen?
Answer: No one, because it is God who justifies (v. 33).

Question: Who is he who condemns?
Answer: No one, because Jesus died, was raised, and is in God’s presence interceding for you (v. 34).

Question: Who shall separate you from the love of Christ?
Answer: No one, because nothing at all can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus (vv. 35, 38–39).

Four reasons to stand and shout.

And four reasons to kneel and pray.
