Trusting Jesus with Your Weakness

Come and stand here where everyone can see.
                                         —Luke 6:8

Jesus interrupted his synagogue sermon, saying to a man with a deformed hand, “Come and stand here where everyone can see.” I bet the poor man wanted to climb under a pew.

And what about that woman who had been afflicted for twelve years, sneaking through the crowd to touch the fringe of Jesus’ robe? She was mortified when he called her out.

People with physical deformities and embarrassing afflictions seek to conceal them. But the man’s deformity and the woman’s affliction were wholly healed when exposed to Jesus.

Ken Stegall’s sermon electrified my attention when he asked, “Do you trust Jesus with your weakness?” The last thing we want to reveal is our weakness, our hidden sin. But it must be revealed to Jesus if we are to be forgiven and healed.

Trust Jesus with your weakness.
