Finding Strength to Go On

David found strength in the Lord his God.
                         —1 Samuel 30:6

How do you find strength to go on when circumstances are devastating?

One day when David and his warriors returned to their little hometown of Ziklag, they found it had been raided and burned to the ground, and the marauders had taken their women and children captive. What’s more, David’s soldiers blamed him and threatened to stone him.

If ever there was a time when David felt he couldn’t go on, this must have been it. But go on he did. How? Read this carefully: “David found strength in the Lord his God.”

Rely on these words when you feel you’ve reached the end of your rope and can’t go on. Sometimes it’s the only way.

Sometimes it may seem that God is invisible.
But he is never absent.
