Consider Creation

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
                  —Psalm 121:2

God told Isaiah to “Comfort my people.”

So, Isaiah pointed to creation: “Look up to the skies, who created all these stars?” (Is 40:26)

Psalm 104 declares that all creation is God’s doing: he makes the clouds (v 3) and the winds (v 4); he makes the grass grow (v 14) and makes the trees (v 16); he made the moon and the sun (v 19). “How many are your works, Lord! . . . you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures” (v 24).

“You made the heavens . . . and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them” (Neh 9:6).

And he made you: “You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Ps 139:13).

Consider creation.

Look up, and around, and within.
God created all this.
