Are you at peace? You are if you have availed yourself of God’s great gift: “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom 5:1).
Jesus was born, died, and was resurrected for a reason. You and I are that reason. Not because we are caring enough, handsome enough, popular enough, rich enough, successful enough, serious enough, creative enough, devoted enough, driven enough, kind enough, or good enough. But because he cared enough, loved enough, and gifted us with grace enough.
“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. . . . so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:5, 7).
We are the reason.
He is the rescuer.
