Do it all in the name of the Lord.
—Colossians 3:17
You have work to do today.
Paul was fond of “To Do” lists. In Romans 12, he named seven gifts that exist among members of the body of Christ, encouraging you to find yours and “do” it. In Galatians 5, he noted nine Spirit fruits, urging you to “do” them.
Then, in an expansive sweep, he gave just one that clearly has your name on it: “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Col 3:17).
WHATEVER you do!
- Parenting. (Huge responsibility.)
- Encouraging a grandchild.
- Being a good neighbor.
- Teaching a children’s class at church.
- Extending kindness to a waitperson. (Don’t be tightfisted with the tip.)
Make your own list. There’s no better place to “Do” than where God has placed you.
No one can occupy your place as well as you.
