Well Done

Well done, good and faithful servant.
                     —Matthew 25:21

Picture this. It’s Judgment Day. Your name is called. You step forward. The Lord looks at you, smiles, and says, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

You desire approval. We all do. But human applause is nothing compared to divine approbation. Christ’s “Well done” outranks flattery and honor from any human source.

He will one day have something to say to you, “for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ” (2 Cor 5:10). At that moment, his verdict will be the only thing that matters.

Therefore, here is a worthy prayer: “Lord, more than anything, I want your approval. What I can do, I ought to do. And what I ought to do, by your grace I will do.”

Nothing compares with his “Well done.”
