He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
—John 1:11
Jesus was rejected by religious leaders who knew the Old Testament prophecies and promises but were blind to their fulfillment in him.
Are we different? You know the following verses: do you believe them and live by them?
- “Dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations” (Ps 22:28).
- “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. . . . My purpose will stand” (Is 46:9, 10).
- “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (Jn 14:27).
One more, for this is a statement from God and a proper response from the believer:
- “God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’
So [I] say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid’” (Heb 13:5–6).
Live your belief.
