Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened.

“You, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel” (Mi 5:2).
When Micah revealed that the Messiah would come from Bethlehem, Jewish patriots must have been shocked out of their sandals. They would have expected him to come from Jerusalem, the city of King David, the location of the temple, the capital of Jewish religion. Bethlehem wouldn’t have made the Top 100 list.
The cultural elite were not the first to hear of the birth of Messiah. No, the first to hear it were some unknown and insignificant Bethlehem shepherds.
It’s a reminder that God’s ways are not man’s ways. God uses insignificant people in insignificant places to accomplish significant things.
If you consider yourself to be insignificant, reconsider.
