[God’s] grace to me was not wasted.
—1 Corinthians 15:10 NCV
You messed up. It may have just been a minor gaffe in a moment of weakness. Or it may have been a major blunder or even a total tumble into a life of sin.
Compare your flub to Paul’s pre-conversion conduct, and yours will seem slight. Paul was a terrorist, imprisoning and killing Christians. His post-conversion admission is frank: “I am not even worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God” (1 Cor 15:9).
Nevertheless, his next sentence is unequivocal: “But God’s grace has made me what I am, and his grace to me was not wasted.”
God isn’t through with you. Do not let the grace you have received be wasted (2 Cor 6:1).
Seize God’s gift of grace.
