You shall have no other gods before me.
—Exodus 20:3
If you’re finding peace of mind elusive, it may be because you’re seeking it in the wrong place.
Are you claiming peace in the God who owns the world, or pursuing it in the gods that have hijacked your world?
If you worship the god of money, you will discover that there are things money cannot buy.
If you bow before the god of pleasure, you will learn that its thrills play out and its passions are short-lived.
If you kneel before the god of science, you will find that while it has produced many good things, it has also fathered fears that it cannot calm.
It is short-sighted to depend on short-term gods. They don’t live up to their promises.
Adapt to changing times,
but hold tight to the unchanging God.
