God’s Relentless Love

God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son
            —John 3:16

With a world population of more than eight billion, we may be inclined to think that we, one individual, is too insignificant to merit God’s attention and love.

As Christians, we don’t claim that we merit it. Jesus did not die for us because we were worth dying for. He died for us because he loved us despite our sinfulness.

Our feelings come and go. God’s love for us does not. He does not abandon us because of our depravity or indifference. He is relentless in his determination to save us, at whatever cost to him.

“[God] is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Pt 3:9).

Our devotion comes and goes.
God’s love comes but never goes.
