Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him.
—Psalm 115:3
Are you spiritually nearsighted? Has your short-term view blurred your long-term vision?
God says he is in control. Some Christians seem to doubt that.
“What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. . . . Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’” (Is 45:9 NLT).
“I am God, and there is none like me. . . . Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish” (Is 46: 9, 10 NLT).
Calm confidence that God is in control, without demanding to know why he does what he does—or doesn’t do what he doesn’t do—is a mark of spiritual maturity.
Only those with the long-term view will handle well the short-term emotions of antagonism, anxiety, and anger.
Don’t let your disappointment disrupt your faith.
