Be the Reason

Encourage one another
and build each other up.
  —1 Thessalonians 5:11

Three ladies occupied a booth near where I was having dinner. They were well equipped for communication: one had a smartphone, one had a tablet, and one had a laptop.

The message on the outside of the laptop’s cover caught my attention: BE THE REASON FOR SOMEONE HAVING A BETTER DAY!

I like that!

If you have a grumpy countenance, pessimistic disposition, and gloom and doom tongue, you will not be the reason for someone having a better day.

But if you have a happy countenance, optimistic disposition, and positive speech, you will be.

Your influence is not neutral; it’s either positive or negative.

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Gal 5:22).

Is there anything in that list that you need to work on?

Be the reason for someone having a better day.
