Get Up, Dust Off, Move On

Do not dwell on the past.
      —Isaiah 43:18

Made a mistake did you? Messed up?

Knowing what you know now, you would do better if you had another shot at it. But you didn’t know then what you know now, and you don’t have another shot at it. That ship has sailed; put it behind you.

You’re not the first to stumble you know. Noah got drunk. Moses got mad. David got aroused. Peter got scared. And they came out just fine.

You can’t sweep up the trash of past mistakes any more than you can unscramble an egg. So get up, dust off, and move on. “We don’t give up and quit … We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going” (2 Cor. 4:8-9 TLB).

Learn from the past, but don’t
let it define your future.
