Want an Appointment with God?

Approach the throne of grace with confidence.
                          —Hebrews 4:16

Esther was the queen—the king’s wife. But when she decided to appeal to him for mercy on behalf of the Jews who had been sentenced to annihilation, she was terrified.

Why?

Because approaching the king without being summoned carried a death sentence, and Queen Esther hadn’t been invited into the king’s presence in more than thirty days.

Chances are you aren’t going to have an audience with the president unless you are invited. And chances are that isn’t going to happen.

But an appointment with God? It’s yours if you want it: “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Heb 4:16).
