Maria Rameriz’s genius at voice recognition blows my mind. She recognizes my voice and calls my name before I finish “hello”—and was doing so long before the invention of Caller ID.
I’ve been in her office and marveled as she answered call after call, and said name after name.
Of course, voice recognition is not new. Jesus said that sheep follow the shepherd “because they know his voice” (Jn 10:4). Have you listened to the Shepherd enough to recognize his voice?
Other side of the coin: the psalmist said, “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice . . . he turned his ear to me” (Ps 116:1, 2). Have you spoken to him enough for him to recognize your voice?
Listen to his voice.
And be sure he hears yours.
