Leave Your Problems Outside

An anxious heart weighs a man down.
                 —Proverbs 12:25

For years Gregg Teears saw his dad touch a branch of the bush near their front door every day when he came home from work.

One day he asked him why he did it. “I try to hang all of today’s problems from work on the bush,” his dad said, “and not pick them up again until I go out the next day.”

Gregg says he has applied that lesson to his job and many other life situations ever since.

Not a bad practice.

Jesus said, “[D]on’t worry about tomorrow . . . Today’s trouble is enough for today” (Mt 6:34 NLT).

“I lay down and slept. I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me” (Ps 3:5 NLT).

Get a good night’s sleep. God is awake.
