Leonard Burford was born with retinitis pigmentosa. He was reading Braille at fourteen and was totally blind at twenty-eight. Even so, he graduated college with honors, studied at the renowned Juilliard School, received his doctorate from Columbia University, and chaired the Music Department at Abilene Christian University for twenty-four years.
“Jesus, Son of David,” shouted a blind beggar, “have mercy on me!” When bystanders told him to put a sock in it, he cranked up the volume: “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked.
“I want to see.”
“Go, you are healed because you believed.”
Some, like Dr. Burford, have a faith vision that’s clearer than that held by many of us who can read the bottom line of the eye chart.
The size of your God is measured
by the size of your faith.
