Raise Your Hand

I confessed my sins to you.
              —Psalm 32:5

The St. Olaf Choir, a 75-voice a cappella choir in Northfield, Minnesota, has been producing beautiful music for more than a century (since 1912), performing in venues around the world.

Choir members exercise strict self-discipline: when someone makes a mistake in rehearsal, they raise their hand. Instead of attempting to hide the flub, they call attention to it—giving the conductor the opportunity to help them correct the error.

Takeaway: when you stumble, raise your hand. Confess your sin, and ask God to help you correct the mistake.

“When I refused to confess my sin, I was weak and miserable . . . Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide them . . . And you forgave me!” (Ps 32: 3, 5).

Be quick to confess,
because God is quick to forgive.
