Paranoia in Reverse

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
                                              —Philippians 4:7

With coronavirus on a rampage and the economy tanking, trust is being tested.

The CEV translates Philippians 4:7 this way: “Because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.”

If you score high on the trust test, you experience a sense of peace that you can’t fully understand—and that is entirely beyond the comprehension of some of your contemporaries—both Christian and non-Christian.

Philip Yancey defined faith as “paranoia in reverse.” A paranoid person views life from the perspective of fear. Faith works in reverse, viewing life from the perspective of trust.

What is your trust grade?

Storms without, but peace within.
