Companionship

It is not good for the man to be alone.
                       —Genesis 2:18

Rent-a-Family began in Japan in 1991 and has since spread to numerous countries, including the U.S. All rented relationships are strictly platonic.

Rentals include father-of-the-bride, companions for social occasions, surrogate grandparents, and many others.

The need for human relationships goes all the way back to creation. When God viewed what he had made, he called it “very good.” But of Adam, he said, “It is not good for the man to be alone, so I will create a companion for him” (Gn 2:18).

Paul sent Timothy to church to find familial feelings—told him to treat older men as fathers, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters (1 Tm 5:1–2).

“God sets the lonely in families” (Ps 68:6). You will find this in church. We are family.

Everyone needs someone.
You can be that someone to someone.
