One Believer, One Rock, and One God

I come against you in the
name of the Lord Almighty.
        —1 Samuel 17:45

Eighty times—each morning and evening for forty days—the giant Goliath strutted into the valley and shouted, “Give me a man and let us fight each other.”

Every time he shouted, Saul’s soldiers shook in their sandals.

Not David. He jogged into the valley to take on Goliath with a slingshot—a chipmunk pitted against a rhino.

“You come against me with a sword and spear and javelin,” David shouted, “but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.”

You know the end of the story—David cleaned Goliath’s clock with one rock.

The giant you’re facing may appear enormous. His name may be Habit, Hate, Health, or Hardship.

But you’re coming against him in the name of the Lord Almighty. You will win this one.

Your problem may be big,
but your God is bigger.
