Measuring Your Worth

We brought nothing into the world,
and we can take nothing out of it.
                   —1 Timothy 6:7

Satan doesn’t encounter much resistance in enticing us to focus on money—even conning us into using it as our standard of judgment.

“What’s he worth?” doesn’t require translation. We know what it means—what is he worth in dollars and cents?

We live in a culture where status is based on possessions. We mistakenly size up people’s worth by their position, income, bank account, stock portfolio, house, and car.

And our own self-image is too often measured the same way.

Back away from that. Don’t let Satan win this one.

Your worth isn’t measured by what
belongs to you, but by who you belong to.
