Are You Satisfied with Who You Are?

We are all the work of your hand.
                 —Isaiah 64:8

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” (Jer 1:5).

“God has made us what we are.” (Eph 2:10 GW).

One of the most difficult things in the world is to be satisfied with where God has placed you and the talents he has given you. Envy inflames the desire for the place and talents God has gifted to someone else.

A companion difficulty is to be grateful and appreciative of the place and talents of that “someone else”—to rejoice in their work and worth.

Your God-planned life path is not inferior to that of anyone else, though it may receive less applause.

Nor is the God-planned life path of anyone else inferior to yours, though it may not receive your applause.
