He chose us in [Christ]before
the creation of the world.

God has loved you for a very long time. In fact, he loved you and chose you before the world existed.
“He chose us in [Christ] before the creation of the world” (Eph 1:4)). God purposed to make us (who did not yet exist) his children through the redeeming work of Christ (which had not yet occurred).
The doctrine of election has baffled Bible scholars for centuries. But we must gratefully accept it, even though we do not fully understand it, for Scripture confirms it. As Calvin said: “Although we cannot conceive either by argument or reason how God has elected us before the creation of the world, yet we know it by his declaring it to us.”
