Your Unique DNA

What do you have that you did not receive?
                          —1 Corinthians 4:7

Wishing to be something other than what we are suggests that we suspect God didn’t know what he was doing when he allocated gifts. It implies that if we were in control of doling out gifts, we could do a better job.

“I want to be like you when I grow up.” Intended and accepted as a compliment, the statement is harmless. But God didn’t create you to be a clone. He made you unique. Your DNA was divinely planned.

Don’t let what God has made someone else blind you to what he has made you. He made you who he wanted you to be. You are his workmanship, specifically designed for the work he gifted you to do (Eph 2:10). Live joyfully in the role for which you were created.

You are who God made you to be,
and God doesn’t make mistakes.
