It’s a Small World

Make disciples of all the nations.
                —Matthew 28:19

The Small World ride has been a part of the Magic Kingdom in Orlando since the park opened in 1971.

Walt Disney told the Sherman Brothers, who wrote the song It’s a Small World, that he wanted one song that could be easily translated into many languages. In the Small World boat tour, dolls in traditional costumes from around the world sing the song in their native language.

I was just a child in Sunday School when I first became aware of the small world view:

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

In John’s vision of heaven, he saw “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language” (Rv 7:9).

It’s a small world after all.
