Faith: The Answer to the Impossible

By faith the walls of Jericho fell.
                  —Hebrews 11:30

Jericho was bulletproof: “The gates of Jericho were securely barred . . . No one went out and no one came in” (Josh 6:1).

But God told Joshua, “I have delivered Jericho into your hands.” The process of conquest was detailed: march around the city for six days, and seven times on the seventh day with trumpets blaring and a mighty shout. “Then,” he said, “the wall of the city will collapse” (Josh 6:2–5).

Would anyone in their right mind follow those instructions? Only if they totally trusted the source of the order. Faith!

Build a boat, Noah. That made no sense. Noah hammered the last nail in the boat about a century later. Faith!

Abraham, you’re going to have a son. The baby shower was twenty-five years later, when Abraham was 100. Faith!

You don’t have to understand it.
If God says it, believe it and do it.
