How long, O Lord?
Will you forget me forever?

God is always on time: never early, never late. His calendar for our salvation was heavenly timed: “When the set time had fully come, God sent his Son” (Gal 4:4). “At just the right time . . . Christ died for the ungodly” (Rom 5:6).
At a personal level, we experience seasons of pain, heartache, and disappointment. When we’re up against it, we think God should act, and that he should do it NOW! But “there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery” (Eccl 8:6).
Trusting God’s timing while we wait is not easy. But in the end, the wait will be worth it.
Derek Kidner wrote, “All of God’s delays are maturings, either of the time or of the person.”
Trust God to do his work at the right time.
